1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?
A number of my clients have anxiety or adhd symptoms, trauma or work in the helping field. I specialize in working with adolescents. My practice has branched out to work with coaching Artist & Althletes as a MasterMindset Coach. This allows me to use my creative arts and athletics background to best help others with mental rehearsals and emotional wellness that strive to improve their performance levels.
2. Tell us about yourself.
Since I was a kid, I wanted to work as a Counselor and have my own practice. I love the flexibility in making my own hours and being available for my family while helping others to improve their lives and crush their goals!
3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.
A client of mine went from being very introverted, isolated, depressed and on the verge of suicide to increasing his social interactions, enhancing his skill set as a performer and gaining more confidence. I am truly honored to be a part of someone’s journey and transformation in their life. This usually teaches me a lot about myself as well.
4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?
When you work for an agency or company, they traditionally take on the billing and a lot of the overhead, allowing you to focus primarily on the clinical aspect. There may also be others on call when you are out or to access when you have a question. Starting on your own can also have a lot of challenges as far as marketing and getting onboarded with insurance.
