1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

I practice general Functional Medicine, helping a number of patients with a number a different conditions including fatigue, hormone imbalance, autoimmune conditions, digestive concerns and more.

2. Tell us about yourself.

As many of us in the Functional Medicine world, I first came to this field of medicine through personal experience. I watched how I felt better through the use of nutrition, lifestyle, and key supplements based on symptoms and testing. After my own health improved, I felt compelled to help others in a similar way.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

Stacy was a 19-year old with chronic abdominal pain who had done many GI tests without any answers. She had lost weight and struggled to play sports, which she historically loved to do. Through some food sensitivity + stool testing, I learned that Stacy struggled with food sensitivities + candida overgrowth. An elimination plan, GI treatment, careful reintroduction, and candida treatment has helped her to feel more like herself again. She's very grateful!

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

There are many administrative tasks involved with owning your own practice, such as hunting down lab results, helping with scheduling conflicts, doing your own accounting and more. I think as a practice grows you can outsource these tasks, but in the early days, you are doing most of this work!

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top 3 tips I would give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a private practice today would be :

  1. Your new business will be like a new child - aim to do this at a time when you can commit.
  2. Read "Profit First" to learn how to set up your spending.  Make your office space somewhere you'd like to be for hours each week.
  3. I found Functional Lawyer very helpful

6. Where can people find you?
