1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

What do you want your food to do for you? A potato can change your gut biome for the better or spike your blood sugar creating increase inflammation. Same food, but different health goals. My clients run the gamut of weight management, diabetes, heart disease goals to kids with metabolic issues.

2. Tell us about yourself.

I am trying to put myself out of business by facilitating clients to have the tools to create long term health. I come from a long line of family members with heart disease and diabetes. My original goal was to understand how that happened and what would change the course of my life.
Now, my focus is giving my clients tools tailored to their lifestyle that allow them to fulfill their health goals. Everyone is different and your plan of action should reflect you and your life.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

I worked with a woman who had diabetes for 11 years and was on 13 medications for diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure. We looked at her day-to-day life. Together we made a plan about when to eat, how to incorporate a couple of new foods every week. She tried new things every week. I loved her attitude.
In four months, she was off all of medications. She said how happy she was. She hadn't felt this young "since I don't know when."
It was fulfilling to think I had anything to do with that.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

Lack of stability. You will get a slew of clients and then crickets. It can make you doubt your self. However, learn to use the down time to research and review how you can make you and your practice even better.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top 3 tips I would give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a private practice today would be :

  1. Everything that comes out of your mouth is based on solid science. There is so much bad science on videos everywhere.
  2. Define your business focus in 1 simple sentence. Clients who "get" you will come to you. You don't need everyone.
  3. Focus on the client experience. Make everything as easy as possible and messages short. Start with a simple website where everything works. Add SM and more contacts as your business grows and you can handle it.

6. Where can people find you?
