Rachele Epp, LMHC - Epp Counseling

1. What's your practice focus and who are your typical patients?

I specialize in helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, and trauma using EMDR and CBT therapy. Most of my clients are seeking help to reduce the distress they are feeling from traumatic experiences, or to overcome overwhelming feelings of anxiety.

2. Tell us about yourself.

When I was in junior high and high school, my family took in foster children. My heart broke over the tragedies these young children had experienced. This was what spurred me to get my Master's Degree in Counseling and counseling has been my lifelong passion.

I have enjoyed working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. After moving from Nebraska to Florida, I opened my private practice in Fort Myers, where I continue to pursue my passion of helping others. I love those moments when my clients have an ah-ha moment and they see their experience from a whole new perspective.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

A number of years ago I had a client who came to work through many years of trauma. She was so bound up by shame that she couldn't look others in the eye and could barely speak in a group. She was committed to changing her life and through a year of therapy, I saw this young woman transform into someone who was confident and no longer paralyzed by her traumas.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

The hardest part about running a private practice is managing the business side of the practice. I have spent hundreds of hours learning how to market my practice: something they don't teach you in school.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

1. Specialize. People don't want a jack of all trades. They want a specialist.
2. Invest in a good website. I use Brighter Vision because they specialize in therapy websites.
3. Learn everything you can about marketing and Google Ads. There are lots of free resources out there.

6. Where can people find you?
