1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

My practice works with adolescents, adults and geriatric clients with mood disorders, intimacy disorders and sexual dysfunction.

2. Tell us about yourself.

I am Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist licensed in Kansas, Missouri and Washington state with 10 years of experience working as a therapist, mental health consultant, program therapist and vocational rehabilitation counselor. I believe that everyone is unique, so my approach is eclectic with a foundation based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am very passionate about helping others and feel this has always been my calling.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

I had a client who was having a difficult time managing after discovering her husband's infidelity and that he had an intimacy disorder. After the client completed therapy, she went on her way like most clients do, but two years later I got an email from her thanking me for helping her find her voice and challenge herself to believe that she was capable of accomplishing feats that she felt at one time was unattainable.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

Here are my three tips:

  1. Well, first you want to make sure this is what you want to do, because you will be dedicating an immense amount of time and work building your practice.
  2. Second, making sure that you create some kind of structure to your work week-meaning set business hours.
  3. Third remember the reason you are working for yourself and that is to live and enjoy life.

6. Where can people find you?
