1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?
My practice focuses on children and teenagers that have trauma, anger, anxieties, autism, and school struggles. I also enjoy finding ways to connect to clients that have had trouble connecting with other therapist in the past. During my Masters, I received a certificate in school social worker. I am no longer in the schools, but it has given me knowledge to empower parents to advocate for the needs of their children. I have training in TF-CBT and play therapy.
2. Tell us about yourself.
I first started my own business due to the fact that I wanted flexibility to do what works for me with my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It provides freedom. The fact that I get to watch my clients heal, grow, and I never know what I will encounter at work that day helps me keep my business going.
3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.
One of my clients that I am proud of helping is a client that had extreme anxiety with leaving their house due to worrying about having panic attacks. While working together, they were not only able to leave her house, but travel across the country with minimal anxiety.
4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?
The hardest thing about private practice is understanding insurance. I could not have my business without my biller.
