1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

Our practice focus is simply helping those who are needing someone to talk too. Each of our clinicians have their own focus to ensure that all of our clients are matched with a counselor who can benefit them the most.

2. Tell us about yourself.

Since getting into social work, my dream had always been to open my own practice. Two years ago that dream came true and since I have been able to grow it into a group practice servicing the Tampa Bay area. Knowing the practice is helping people everyday is what keeps me motivated to ensure our employees and clients are happy.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

I do not have one specific patient story, as I am proud to help all of my clients. The best thing being a therapist is seeing the "click" in a client's eyes when you help them with something they have been struggling with.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

The hardest thing is not getting too emotionally involved. As a social worker you want to do the most you can to help your clients. However, you also have to remember that you cannot do the work, you can simply provide the tools and resources and it is the client who has to put in the effort to improve their lives.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

Top 3 tips I would give someone getting into private practice is:

  1. You need to know how to balance life and work, as it can be overwhelming at times.
  2. Your practice is part of you, have fun with it, try and not see it as just a "job."
  3. It can take some time to grow a caseload, so have patience and know you are doing a great job.

6. Where can people find you?
