1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, children, teens and families suffering from the effects of trauma such as abuse, people dealing with chronic illnesses and addiction, and burned-out caregivers and entrepreneurs. As a hypnotherapist, I help my clients overcome subconscious blocks and heal from trauma so they can be free from anxiety and fear, beat burnout, and have more peace, joy, and harmony in their lives.

2. Tell us about yourself.

I started my entrepreneurial journey as a consultant and coach for female entrepreneurs while I was still in graduate school studying Clinical Psychology and was both a therapist and a coach separately for nearly 20 years before starting Psyched Up Success so I could bring the best of both worlds together. I love working with purpose-driven professionals on a mission to live in alignment with their passion and values to create real and lasting change in their lives and the world around them.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

It is so rewarding to see someone who has been so overwhelmed by trauma from abuse transform as they begin to regulate their nervous system, heal those deep inner wounds, and reconnect with their true inner selves to build confidence and self-esteem. Often times, my clients want to stop the cycle of abuse and heal not only themselves, but also learn to help their children as well. It is incredible to see those emotional tools and resources being passed down to the next generation.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

As I went into private practice, it was very important for me to make sure that I built self-care into my schedule to make sure that I took care of myself first so I could show up and help others at my best and avoid burnout. I work virtually, so making sure I have good boundaries and separation between work and home is key.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top three tips I would give anyone looking to start, run, and grow their private practice is to:

  1. Figure out who you love to help, and how, and focus your attention there. So many people start off trying to help everyone, but it's better to be more focused in your area of expertise.
  2. It's all about boundaries. Being your own boss means having inherently less structure, so make sure to build that in for yourself to maintain healthy work-life harmony.
  3. Entrepreneurship is new for many people going into private practice. Business skills are as important as your therapeutic ones.

6. Where can people find you?
