1. What's your practice focus and who are your typical patients?
I work mostly with millennials and gen zers wanting a different perspective on mental health. My practice is all virtual, with a focus on somatic EMDR. Clients seek me out because they want a different approach to mental health—I take a truly integrative approach, weaving in yogic philosophy, feng shui, and mindfulness. We do deep healing trauma work that allows people to feel more present and connected to their joy.
2. Tell us about yourself.
I opened up my private practice at the start of the pandemic. Turns out, I LOVED creating a business. I got pretty obsessed with my branding, website design, marketing efforts, all things business. It fed me creatively and eventually led me to launch two other business ventures (templates by PREMADE and Her Flowers). I love creating and being my own boss.
3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.
I helped one of my clients recover from a cocaine addiction of five years. Since working with me, she's substance-free, meditating daily, dating intentionally, and learning to love her alone time. It's an honor to watch someone grow into the person they were always meant to be.
4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?
My background is in mental health and public health. When I opened my practice, I hadn't received any training in running a business or even worked in a corporate setting. I've had to teach myself the business side of things through a lot of Googling and Youtube videos. Luckily I enjoy this side of things, but it's a different skill set than sitting individually with clients. Sometimes I wish I knew how to do things more efficiently—knowing what to type into Google to find what you're looking for is an art!
