1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

My practice focuses primarily on Depression, Anxiety, Perfectionism, Body Image/Self-Esteem, Stress Management, Family Concerns, Motivation, Life Changes, and Overall Wellness. The clients that tend to choose me as their therapist want someone who will challenge them while showing them unconditional support. I aim to provide a comfortable environment to allow clients to discuss life challenges.

2. Tell us about yourself.

Growing up, I struggled with my own mental health. I learned how important mental health is and how much it can impact your life. After working on my mental health, I got motivated to help others with their mental health and it became a passion of mine. I love learning about different ways to improve our lives and am passionate about sharing that with others. My clients are my biggest motivation. It is a really cool thing to see your clients grow in their mental health and confidence.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

I am most proud of the clients that put the work in. Behavior changes have the biggest impact on mental health and can also be the hardest to implement. When I see a client putting in the work to improve their mental health, it makes me proud to be on this journey with them and to see them grow.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

The hardest part with owning a private practice is all of the behind the scenes work. After sessions, you have to worry about doing your notes, billing, responding to new inquiries, and any issues that arise. It can get overwhelming at times when juggling a bunch of tasks.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top three tips I would give someone who is looking to start.

  1. Talk to colleagues! Get input from people who have already started a private practice so you can learn from their successes and mistakes.
  2. Believe in yourself. I was nervous starting my private practice but it has been one of the best things that I have done.
  3. Create boundaries and stick to them. Know what your limits are and make sure to not go above what you can handle.

6. Where can people find you?
