Tracy Paeschke, MD, FACC.

1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

I'm Dr. Tracy Paeschke, a Preventive Cardiologist at Heart Health Prevention and Wellness. I use my expertise with 25+ years in cardiology to help people with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a family history of heart disease, or other cardiac risk factors and those recovering from heart conditions. I offer personalized, in-depth consultations and integrative strategies to manage risks and improve people's health.

2. Tell us about yourself.

My practice is dedicated to preventive cardiology, a testament to my belief in the profound impact of early intervention and lifestyle modification on health. I am motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people's lives by fostering an environment of education, awareness, and empowerment. The ethos of my practice embodies my personal mission: to help, to heal, to teach, and to champion health, diversity, equity, justice, inclusion, and respect.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

One of the stories that stands out to me involves a patient who I will call Alex, a person with a strong family history of heart disease. Alex came to me feeling defeated, burdened by the genetic hand they were dealt. Together, we crafted a personalized plan that included dietary adjustments towards plant-based nutrition, a gradual but consistent exercise regimen, and techniques for managing stress. Alex, who had once felt doomed to a certain path, became an empowered advocate for their health.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

I have a direct specialty care practice. My practice does not accept insurance, a decision that allows me to spend more time with each patient and offer personalized, comprehensive care without the constraints imposed by insurance companies. However, this model also requires patients to think differently about their healthcare investment, viewing it as a proactive and direct relationship with their healthcare provider.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top three tips I would give.

  1. Embrace Patient-Centered Care: This patient-centered approach is fundamental to differentiating your practice in a competitive healthcare market.
  2. Educate and Advocate: This not only raises awareness but also positions you as a thought leader in your field.
  3. Master the Business of Healthcare: Running a successful private practice requires an understanding of business fundamentals which are all learnable.

6. Where can people find you?
